With the agility of a true athlete and performance in abundance, even the most enthusiastic driver will appreciate the dynamic nature of these cars.
Do not confuse the Formula 27 with their budget competitors, as their reputation throughout the industry is for superlative quality, attention to detail and value for money.

The Formula 27 replica lotus is offered either as a road car with windscreen, wipers, heater and demister plus road tyres and upholstered seats with an SVA certificate, or a full track day or even race car with a specification tailored around your own requirements. Increasingly popular is either a road legal track day car, or a pure track day version. The latter does not need an SVA certificate and can incorporate extra features to maximise your track day experience.

Engines and gearboxes

There are a number of engines that are available for the Formula 27 with the Zetec being the most popular. It is relatively inexpensive, easy to increase the power and very reliable. The Duratec is being used more now as it is lighter, more powerful and has an increasing number of tuning options.

From the GM range we recommend the 2.2 litre Ecotec for performance and reliability along with the brand new 2 litre turbo charged unit for added power!!

5 speed and 6 speed gearboxes are available to maximise the power curve of your choice of engine.

As the Formula 27 was one of the first cars to be fitted with a bike engine, we are still supplying engines (with optional reverse units) for use in our cars. Bike engined cars are tremendous fun to drive especially on the track.

“I am very pleased with the Formula 27 especially the handling . The Duratec engine is excellent however, now I am used to the car, I am seriously thinking of upgrading to 220-230bhp as the chassis is so good!!! A superb product all round”. Mark Wilson, Burton-on-Trent.
