Polish Woman Faces Charges for Stalking McCann Family Over Madeleine Disappearance Claims

Julia Wandel, a Polish woman, is charged with stalking the McCann family after falsely claiming to be Madeleine McCann. She contacted the family repeatedly from early 2024 to early 2025 and visited their home twice. DNA testing in 2023 disproved her claims of being Madeleine. She remains in custody ahead of an April 2025 plea hearing. Madeleine disappeared in 2007, with Christian Bruckner named as a suspect no charges yet filed.
